LettersFonts

LettersFonts is a community-driven library of free fonts — a place to discover, preview and download typefaces shared by designers and lettering enthusiasts from all over the world.

What this site is

LettersFonts exists to make finding a good free font simple. Instead of scattering downloads across a hundred different blogs and file lockers, we collect them in one searchable, browsable library. Every typeface here has been uploaded by a real person — clean sans serifs built for body text, sturdy serifs for editorial work, monospace fonts for code, expressive scripts for invitations, and bold display faces for logos, posters and packaging.

We are not a foundry and we do not sell anything. The library is built by its members, and the catalogue grows every day as new contributors add the fonts they have made or discovered. That steady stream of fresh uploads is the heart of the project: there is almost always something new to explore.

How fonts are added every day

The library is powered by its community. Registered members upload fonts — their own original designs or freely licensed faces they want to share — and add the details that make a font useful: its name, categories, descriptive tags and, importantly, its license information. Because contributions come in around the clock from members in different time zones, new fonts appear continuously rather than in occasional batches.

You can always see the latest arrivals on the recently added page, or jump straight into the full font library and sort by the newest uploads. Prefer to start from a style? Browse by category or explore the tags to drill down to exactly the look you need.

Have a font of your own to share? Anyone can upload a font and add it to the library for the whole community to use.

How to preview and download fonts

Every font has its own page with a live, interactive preview. Type your own text — a headline, a brand name, your favourite quote — and see exactly how the typeface renders before you commit. This matters: a font can look completely different setting your real words than it does in a generic specimen, so previewing the actual text you intend to use saves a lot of disappointment.

Each font page also lists the available styles and weights, the designer and foundry where we know them, and the license terms so you can check what you are allowed to do with the font. When you are happy, the download button gives you the font file directly — no hoops, no waiting. New to installing fonts? Our installation guide walks through Windows, macOS, Linux and the web.

How the leaderboard works

The people who keep the library growing deserve recognition, so LettersFonts ranks its top contributors on a public leaderboard. Members earn points for their activity on the site — sharing fonts is the main way to climb, and the typefaces the community loves and downloads most help lift their authors up the rankings.

Each contributor has a profile showing the fonts they have uploaded, so you can follow a designer whose taste matches yours and discover more of their work. The leaderboard is a friendly nudge: the more useful fonts you share, the higher you rise.
